Run a Marathon, Half Marathon or 10k on the paradisiacal island of Cozumel in Mexico staying in a 5 * all-inclusive hotel with parallel activities. In 2023 we include one more day; friday 8th, sat 8th, sunday 10th, monday 11th and tuesday 12th.
Cozumel is one of the most prepared places in Mexico to host sporting events. Here, events of the stature of IRONMAN are held and it has been the first destination to hold a sports event in the post-covid-19 era.
You can stay in a hotel in front of one of the most spectacular coral reefs in the world and in addition to the race, we will do activities such as diving and visit Mayan arequeological settlements. December offers excellent temperatures and little rain.
The marathon / half marathon / 10k takes place combining beach segments (3%) with other asphalt segments, surrounded by lush vegetation, (65%) and also dirt track in the Natural Park Punta Sur overlooking the sea (32%), all in a flat itinerary. The circuit will be closed to traffic and will have liquid / solid aid stations with fresh local products every 7km approximately.
The trip includes transfers from the island to the airport, all-inclusive accommodation in a 5 * hotel, diving or similar activity, cultural visits to Mayan settlements, race circuit recognition trip, farewell dinner-trophy delivery, finisher medal, technical jacket, and much more.

- RULES
Marathon Maya is a FULL MARATHON, HALF MARATHON and 10k event organized by Geo-Planet Eventos with Makalu Adventure Travel & Tours and takes place in the spectacular scenery of the Cozumel Island Natural Park
It will be held on December 10th, 2023, practically flat, with 30m of positive elevation and 30m negative elevation in Marathon distance.The departure is from the Occidental hotel for FULL MARATHON, from Playa Hermosa for HALF MARATHON 21k and a point to be determined for the 10k and common arrival at the three distances at the hotel
The minimum age to participate is 18 years old on the same day of the race. Minors under 18 will need to bring an authorization signed by their parents or guardians.
It is not mandatory for participants to be in possession of the federative athletics license..- It will be possible to compete individually or by team/company (couples or teams up to a maximum of 5 participants), counting the time of the first 3 to enter the finish line.
Participants must bring:
.-Bib number provided by the organization
.-Geolocator (provided by the organization), track downloaded to mobile or GPS watch and map.
The maximum time to carry out the race will be 6 hours. After that time the closing vehicle would pick up the participants.
To qualify for the trophies, participants must go through all controls within the maximum time established. The organization establishes the following CATEGORIESGENERAL FULL MARATHON 42K 3 First classified male and 3 first classified female
GENERAL HALF MARATHON 21K 3 First classified men and 3 first classified women
GENERAL 10K 3 First classified men and 3 first classified women
TEAM / COMPANY CATEGORY 1st team men and 1st team women or mixed
* The teams may be made up of a maximum of 4 people of the same or different sex, the times will be added and the time of the last team member to enter the finish line will be taken into account. The last component may not enter more than 30 'from the rest of the team.
The organization makes a marking marked with arrows, and vertical signs and the tracks are provided to all runners so that they can follow the route. The organization will have support and protection vehicles for the participants, as well as motorcycles and opening cars, closure car, ambulance and medical service.
A diploma justifying the completion of the test or finisher medal will be delivered to all participants who finish and within the maximum time established.
The organization will have a clothing unloading point in case the weather conditions change
It is closed to traffic but there is the possibility of encountering a vehicle or motorcycle, so prudence is requested, you may be responsible for the infractions that you may commit.
All participants have accident insurance. Likewise, the event has Civil Liability coverage. It is recommended that they carry private insurance.
The organization will assist the participants in the event of an accident but is not responsible for accidents in which the participants could be the cause or victim, nor for the expenses, debts or damages that they could incur, for that reason insurance is contracted.
If necessary for just cause or force majeure, the organization reserves the right to modify the itinerary, controls, schedules, provisioning and these regulations.
If the health workers decide to withdraw a participant because they consider it necessary, he or she would have to abide by that decision for their safety. In the same way, the sports director has the power to withdraw a participant for unsportsmanlike behavior or penalize him for breach of the regulations, skip part of the route, etc.
Any claim will be made at the end of the test, in writing and discreetly. Wildmaraton offers experience and the objective is that all participants enjoy and encourage fair play during the race. Any grievance, if any, should be dealt with directly with the organization and not publicly.
Registrations will be made in advance through the official pages: Marathon World, Runedia or Makalu Adventure. Paying 3% of the registration as a deposit and the rest in two payments on the official website Wildmarathon.com or directly 100% at the official webpage wildmarathon.com
A percentage of the registration deposit is directed by The Hope Path cause to local development aid and environmental conservation causes. The organization transfers directly to the organization but is not responsible for the use made of these donations, although it does ensure that they are reliable and that the contributions are directed to local help causes.
Participants must have an updated passport. It will be convenient to send a copy of the passport to the organization to request authorization from the Natural Park.Returns (notice of cancellation by the participant):

The runners who decide to leave are in the OBLIGATION of COMMUNICATING IT to the telephones that the organization facilitates, otherwise, the expenses of search, rescue will be passed on against the participant.
If a meteorological event or catastrophe occurs that prior to the trip, the organization will take care of the return of the registrations. If this event occurs during the trip or test, the organization reserves the right to change the date, not having to return the registration fee but being able to return partially evaluating the particular case.
Environment:
The MAYA marathon offers each participant the possibility of visiting the NATURAL PARK of Cozumel, one of the most beautiful places in the Caribbean, but this is also a place with high vulnerability, therefore the runner must be respectful with the environment, being STRICTLY PROHIBITED throwing waste out of the places authorized for it or generating damage to the natural environment. The organization has containers for the collection of waste in each supply area and we appreciate you making use of them. Failure to comply with this rule may mean the disqualification of the participant by the organization. Likewise, it is forbidden to alter the environment. Lack of sports ethics and morals, disobedience to the authorities, security means, or organizers may also be cause for disqualification.Image rights:
The participant, through their registration, agrees to assign the image rights to the organization for graphic and audiovisual dissemination for the exclusive use of the event, as well as the personal data required in the registration form that will be used for the communication-promotion of the eventDisclaimer
• The Maya Marathon requires a good physical condition and adequate training to carry out the event. Registration by the runner implies to the organization that it is aware of it and that it is fully empowered to complete it, so it will be responsible for its performance and will assume risks involved in participating in the race, freeing the organization of derived responsibilities of accidents or incidents even with third parties, likewise, the organization will not be held responsible for any loss of material suffered during the event if it were not for justified cause of the organization.• The participant assumes that it is their risk and counts to participate in the race. The organization seeks the safest route and means but cannot be held responsible for any external cause outside the organization's control.
• The participant assumes that he/she has the visa in conditions to travel and that he/she is authorized to enter the country of destination, not being able to request a refund from the organization, although it may seek some compensation.
• Registering for this race implies full acceptance of these regulations.
- TRACK AND MAP
The circuit is practically flat with only about 30 meters of accumulated unevenness in the marathon distance. There are no slopes greater than 5% in any section. Recommended shoe: Asphalt or mixed.
It runs through off-road sectors along the beach 3%, but most of them through an asphalt bike lane 65% and a dirt road in good condition with views of the ocean 32%.
- EQUIPMENT
The organization has sought the best dates (December) to have the
mildest temperatures and avoid tropical storms, so dry weather is assumed
without major alterations but this is not under control, even so, environmental conditions could vary.
Temperature is expected that could vary from 19ºC at the start to 26ºC at the finish line at the time of the year of the celebration. The organization will put a clothing delivery point in case any participant wants to leave a cap, jacket, etc.

Participants can register individually, as a team/company (from 2 to 5 participants), or as companions. Prices are per person, not per team). Registered by the team must fill in the name of the team on the form.
The types of registration are 42k Marathon, 21k Half Marathon, 10k.
Accommodation is shared in a double/triple room in a 5 * hotel. In the registration form, you have to confirm with whom to share a room.
Whoever wants individual accommodation will have an additional € 150 supplement.
