STAGE 1
After breakfast we drive by car from Erfoud to the exit of stage 1 (approximately 30 minutes), where we meet to start the race at 8.30 a.m.
It is a completely flat stage through the hard surface of the hammada, without any difficulties, crossing only a couple of dry streams covered by a thin layer of sand. The distance is 16 kilometers and the altitude accumulated only 20 meters.
Although visibility is very high, the circuit is marked with staks every kilometer and marks on rocks, paint on the ground, etc. We will have feed stations on the road and the accompaniment of the SUVs with our family and companions.
The goal is at the Dune d’or hotel, where a solid, liquid, swimming pool and relaxation supplies await us. After lunch, activities and before dinner, after seeing the sunset in the dunes, Briefing of the next stage.
STAGE 2
We leave the same door of the Dune d’Or hotel and continue circling the dune of Merzouga in clockwise direction. Today is the first real contact with the fine sand of the Erg Chebbi desert, since the first part of the stage passes through hammada tracks and the second one has to go through dunes. The last kilometers we enter the desert in the E-O direction until we reach the Haimas camp, where the solid-liquid feed station, our companions and some pleasant surprise await us.
This is the queen stage, with 17 kilometers of distance and 75 meters accumulated, there are not many apparently but it must be taken into account that 40% passes through the desert dunes, so it will be the most demanding stage although we will have all land at our disposal at all times.
After resting we will move to the Alí El Cojo hotel to be able to bathe in the pool and eat relaxed, and in the afternoon, after the solidary act of delivering clothes and slippers to the children of a nearby town, we will move back to the camp where We will live an exceptional experience; the sunset, dinner, and folklore in the desert haimas, illuminated by the moonlight and the stars.
Although during the whole stage the circuit will be marked, at this stage the use of GPS can be crucial to know what we have left at all times. The track of each stage will be provided with the registration to the MITIC TRAIL DESERT.
STAGE 3
After watching the sunrise and having breakfast, we moved in vehicles to the starting point, about 20 minutes from our camp. The exit is in a scenic place, the volcanic formations of the mountains of Khemliya.
From the top we go out on a stony track, we ascend a few meters to skirt the rock mountain and descend towards the hammada plateau along a path. From this plain we continue on comfortable tracks through villages where its hospitable neighbors will offer us music, drinks and food.
We will keep in touch but slightly with the sand until we reach the hotel of Ali where the last solid-liquid refreshment awaits us and the final ceremony of trophy delivery of the MITIC TRAIL DESERT will be held and we can relax in the pool before Farewell meal
